Shadow Platoon
PURPOSE
Shadow Platoon exists to combine individuals with the love of fantasy sports to join together and build each other’s understanding of sports, to convey the love for the game and the desire for friendship along with the need for competition and the will to assist each other in bettering our scores and ourselves.
The process of joining the Platoon.
All new members must go through the initial process in order to insure that the recruit and the group are a mutual fit. During this period, both the perspective member and the Platoon reserve the right to cancel membership no questions asked. The assessment period will be at least 2 weeks but no more than 6 weeks during which time recruits will have access to the Yahoo group, the website, and the Uber League. After completion of this period, the recruit is a full honored member of the Platoon.
How our groups work.
In order to accommodate all types of players and levels of activity, The Uber Groups are divided as per the following. Shadow Platoon (SP1) & Shadow Platoon 2 (SP2) are strictly Uber oriented and Shadow Platoon Too (SPToo) is for friends, family and part-time members. We will use SP2 as a transition point for new members to serve in until the next realignment unless there is an opening in SP1. The 2 main groups are for the Uber-competitive gamer who is trying to maximize their scores by playing as many games as possible. Members in SPToo are welcome in all Platoon leagues and games but do not have the pressure of trying to live up to the other players standards. All members are encouraged to participate in games with the group.
Realignment day.
If there is a need, we will be reorganize both leagues based on uber score. We do reserve the right to realign at anytime but try to do it only twice a year when necessary. During realignment we will announce the date on the website and through the yahoo group. All those you are needed to move up or down will be emailed personally requesting the movement. We leave it to you to move yourself. If after a sufficient length of time there is no movement or response we will remove you from SP1 and it will be up to you to move to SP2. Members in SPToo will generally not be involved in the realignment process.
It’s all about the Platoon.
Those of us who are in the Platoon like to envision ourselves as a community. We have a Yahoo group set up specifically for group communication. This is where we get to know our fellow members by talking trades, sharing strategies and distributing game information. We can also celebrate life achievements, laugh at jokes and provide support when needed. We are far more than just a group of fantasy gamers.
